JANUARY 2018
January is going out with a bang…literally!! It gives me great pleasure to be able to confirm that Crime Lord will be available on Amazon Prime in the coming weeks. I play Donna - an old flame of the protagonist, Paul Black, played by David Wilde. If you like a gritty, edge-of-your seat crime drama then Crime Lord is for you. Check out the official trailer on this link http://www.crimelordseries.com
More excitement this month…as I drove the breadth of the country in my little Mini to Scotland’s Secret Bunker to finish filming my scenes as Tellu in IronStar Film’s Tellurian. So far, this has to be one of the best locations I have ever worked in and the good news for you is that it is open to the public from March to October each year (http://www.secretbunker.co.uk). You can watch the official trailer for Tellurian here https://vimeo.com/240377884 And here’s a fun fact, the awesome theme music you are listening to as you watch it was composed by James Sizemore (known for The Hobbit and Spotlight).
Congratulations this month…to Fran and the Moth for being selected as part of The Indie Horror Film Festival (thehttp://indiehorrorfest.com). I am both excited and proud in equal measure as I play the lead, Fran, and I can’t wait to find out how this dark comedy is received across the pond. In the meantime, you can watch the official trailer on this link https://www.auldalliancefilms.com/films/#/franandthemoth/
Also due congratulations is…My Friend the Polish Girl on being selected to screen for competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (https://iffr.com/en). Whilst my role is a small one, as Constantin Stanislavski once remarked “There are no small parts, only small actors.” so thank you to the fabulous film-making duo that is Ewa Banaszkiewicz and Mateusz Dymek of Warsaw Pact Films for giving me this opportunity. You can watch the trailer along with their other films by clicking http://www.ewaandmateusz.com
Referrals…it’s always a treat to be offered a role because you have been referred by someone you have worked with before. Not that I don’t like auditioning cold but it’s reassuring to know that if you are professional as well as fun to work with that it will lead to other work. Big thanks to Nicolette McKeown, whom I met on the set of Sheltered for putting me forward for a new feature film - I’m excited about this one and will share more with you as soon as I get the green light to share!
Speaking of Sheltered…this film is nearing completion in post and the official trailer is going to drop soon. I play the role of Emily Moore, who is careful and cunning woman - a very interesting and challenging character. Watch this space!
Another trailer about to drop…is DeadZone and I am so freakin’ excited to share this zombie apocalypse short film with you, brought to you by the fantastic film-making team that is Chloe Chudasama and Leroy Kincaide. Yes!! The same awesome people that brought you Max Payne:Retribution. Nick Samuel is back in his magical sound studio for this one, so the soundtrack is going to be awesome too. I can guarantee you, DeadZone is going to be a “bloody” good film!
Auditions…delighted to end this month with a callback! I am keeping everything crossed for this one as I absolutely love the script and would love to bring the character to life. So, if you could keep a finger or two crossed for me as well, that would be great!
Thank you…for joining me again on this #actorslife journey and hopefully, if the fates are kind, I will be able to continue to provide you with lots more updates this year!
