MARCH 2018

Our life is March weather, savage and serene in one hour.

Red Carpets are so much fun…and so it was such a treat watching the Max Payne:Retribution Red Carpet Premiere and re-living that magical night in London last year at the World Premiere of this fantastic fan film.  You can watch Max Payne:Retribution on this link https://youtu.be/0J5vrTMXXoo

It was especially refreshing listening to my comment about acting,

"Being an actress is a calling, you know you spend 99% of your life being rejected, so you have to love it because who would do that?!"

As the fabulous host of the Red Carpet - Rachael Downie Drury https://twitter.com/RachaelDownie - commented, “What sane person would choose that?

You can watch all of the interviews on this link https://youtu.be/AF2YsU1vOSc (and make sure to look out for my interview at 09:28sec)

March 11 was Mothers Day…and I have to admit it was a bit of wrench being in Edinburgh filming and not spending the day with my gorgeous children.  Lucky for me, they are both fantastic kids and very supportive of my acting career, and thanks to the wonder that is FaceTime I was able to talk to them each night before they went to bed.

Nocturnal, the psychological thriller written and directed by Esther S Conroy…wrapped this month.  The crew were absolutely brilliant to work with and Edinburgh is such a beautiful city to spend time in.  The set that was built in the studio was fantastic, albeit terrifyingly realistic.  Filming on location was amazing too and it made a nice change having all the comforts of home on set!  Nocturnal still has some time left to go on its Indiegogo campaign so please support if you can as this is a film that deserves to be seen #SaveCara  https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/nocturnal-short-film-horror/x/11623131#/

Speaking of festivals…I’m also delighted to share the news that Fran and The Moth opened the Indie Horror Film Festival in Illinois.  It is so fantastic to think that the wonderful folk across the pond have seen this seriously funny dark comedy from Auld Alliance Films https://www.auldalliancefilms.com/films/

And speaking of across the pond, Demo Reel Share Day…was another great success and my heartfelt thanks go to https://twitter.com/DavidAugust for hosting.  It’s always so lovely to receive words of support and encouragement from fellow actors around the globe.  Whilst my demo reel is more of a recap of work from the past couple of years as opposed to an actual reel, it is still great to be able to get it out there.  As they say, you are only one view away from your next role!

So on that note, Happy April!  And as this month is named after the Latin verb aperire, which means to open up, make sure you open yourself up to new opportunities and challenges this month!
